As HealthCorps® continues to empower America’s students to take charge of their health, the organization hosted its Sixth Annual Gala, “Garden of Angels,” at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City on April 18. Vemma Cofounder Karen Boreyko was honored to attend the Gala along with Chris and Heidi Powell.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, Co-Founder and Chairman of HealthCorps, and his wife Lisa Oz, Co-Founder of HealthCorps, co-hosted the event honoring special guests including Diane Sawyer of ABC News.

Co-founded by heart surgeon and Emmy Award-winning talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife Lisa Oz, HealthCorps is a proactive health movement that is fighting child obesity through a unique in-school health mentoring program in high schools across the country. The organization’s core mission is to empower teens and communities to become health agents of change and help the country reach the tipping point towards wellness now and for the future. Vemma has partnered with HealthCorps for over six years to help educate high school students about how to live a healthier lifestyle, respect their bodies and open their minds to nutrition.
